So, I've gone from a perfectly good working version of OME (previous release to this one) to a version where services fail when scheduled inventory takes place. OME sometimes detects that I've applied updated firmware to devices, whereas before it would detect servers had been updated almost instantly.
The upgrade from the previous version to this version went without a hitch I'm thinking (this is my personal thoughts) OME doesn't like being upgraded from one version to another. When I did an upgrade to the previous version from an older version the upgrade crashed and trashed everything. I had to start again.
I would seriously like to see the ability to export data and re-import data to a fresh install instead of going through an upgrade process. Re-setting up alerts again in a new system is so time consuming never mind importing MIBs again. Then there's the configuring of the alert ignore list.
I shouldn't complain, it's a "free" product providing we buy Dell technology, but the time I'm having to spend on testing and fixing problems that didn't appear in a previous release isn't good. Then there's the time delay between messages due to me being in the UK and what appears to be the only point of contact for OME being in the US. I'm grateful for any help I get but I have to wait almost a day for any response.
