When an alert is generated on a server, does that alert reach OME over SNMP? What needs to be configured on the server for that to occur? Do the alerts originate from OMSA or from the DRACs?
The reason I'm asking is that SNMP traps from my M1000e chassis are not reaching OME. I've checked the settings, the IP is correct and the port is 162. I've been told by my network admin that all ports are open on the specific subnet that our CMCs and DRACs are on.
How can I confirm at what point the traps are being lost/rejected? I'm seeing alerts from the servers in OME, but not from the chassis even though the chassis logs are showing the traps have been sent successfully.
