We currently use OME only for alerting on things like bad hard drives or batteries because we never had good luck with it in the past. When we used to try to use it fr pushing out hardware updates it was unreliable and we had no way of knowing what worked and what didn't. There was no good way to force OME to refresh it's inventory so it would tell us thing sweren't updated even though they were updated and it caused tons of problems.
We ended up scrapping it and just using the Repository Manager to create ISO files and then running those manually on each server to install the updates. This has worked great but requires manually remoting into each server to run the updates.
I'd love to give OME another try if things have improved. Has anyone else has a horrible experience with that in OME in the past and is it an ybetter now?
