We are having a couple of problems with Dell openmanage. it is quite a large enviroment and that may be some of the cause (almoast 100.000 IP adresses for the discovery ranges). We have never had this before and installed it for a couple of weeks ago.
Problem 1 - Wrong Devicename and unknown NIC
This is the correct information:
Servicetag: AAAAAA
DeviceName: ComputerNameA
IP 1: 1.1.1.1 (Intel Ethernet 10G)
IP 2: 1.1.1.2 (Intel Ethernet 10G)
OpenManage information:
Servicetag: AAAAAA
DeviceName: ACompletelyDifferentName
IP 1: 1.1.1.1 (Intel Ethernet 10G)
IP 2: 1.1.1.2 (Intel Ethernet 10G)
IP 3: 10.65.65.65 (Host NIC adapter)
ACompletelyDifferentName is actually a VMware guest running on another host, so it shouldnt show up here.]
Problem 2 - Logs from another server
Lets say we found a server with a red light blinking and some log entries when logging on to iDRAC.
When opening the same server in OpenManage, the log list are empty or showing the logs from another server. As the logs dont contain a servicetag, i cant find what server the logs is from.. But it is not from the corresponding server with the ServiceTag and DeviceName.
In this case, the servername and servicetag are reportet correctly in OpenManage, but the logs arent.
