So, we are having the device name field only populate with a subset of the full name. This is causing issues with the merging of some records due to the naming convention. So for example a machine named machine.northamerica.corp.com will sometimes come back as just "machine" in the device name field, and sometimes as the full name, and rarely, it will come back as "northamerica". That last causes issues as OME helpfully merges those "duplicate" names into one record, not good behavior.
I checked the troubleshooting tool and the DNS name resolution is coming back with the full name just fine and not having any issues. I have flushed the DNS caches (made it worse in some cases). But it appears that OME is getting the full name, but not putting the full name into the device name field consistently...
Note, I just deployed 13 machines with exact same configuration in same racks and same IP range, 1/2 work fine, 1/4 have just the first part of the name, and 1/4 have the domain as the name....
