I have had to push my schedules for Discovery, Inventory and Staus down to their slowest speed otherwise OME does not correctly gather the data and OME becomes pretty useless.
I am running OME on a quad core with 8GB RAM and only have about 200 devices as I am still in testing mode.
I have about 10 Discovery Groups and about 30 Discovery Ranges within those groups.
At this point I am only discovering iDRACs on 11G and 12G dell servers running Linux but will expand after testing to include EqalLogic SANs, APC PDUs as well as our network switchgear.
My question is with just the ranges I have now in testing OME seems unable to complete the schedules before they are set to re-run. What can I do to make them run faster but retain all data as when I increase the speed slider much of the data for the devices is not returned. For exaple Hostnames in OME revert to IP addresses and none of the inventory is there so it seems one of the protocols during faster discovery/inventory is failing at that speed.
I have the discoveries set to MSMan, SNMP and IMPI.
Should I reduce the protocols?
Which can I remove and still get full data return on inventory?
