Greetings all,
I've got two 2012 R2 failover clustered Hyper-V hosts with a mix of guest OS running on VMs. I've installed OME on a 2008 R2 host and have upgraded it to 1.2.1.
I've been playing around with it today trying to get everything set up and I noticed it doesn't seem to be recognizing the guest VMs. From what I've read, WMI at least should be set up on the hosts (although I've found SNMP and WMI seems to get more information) and SNMP on the guest VMs.
What is happening is the servers are being discovered and inventories, the failover cluster itself is being detected and is placed in the "HA Clusters" group, and the VM I'm testing is appearing in the "Unknown" group with nothing but a "?" status and it's NIC information.
Troubleshooting tool shows good WMI and SNMP connections to the hosts and a good SNMP to the VM. Some of the Dell whitepapers seem to suggest with this setup, a correlation should be done to identify the VM and it's host and the VMs should be appearing in the "Microsoft Virtualization" group.
Anyone know what I might be doing incorrectly here? Is it possibly due to the hosts being 2012 R2?
Thanks!
