Disable ePSA and XP mode BIOS

(1) In my humble opinion the ePSA on my 1 year old Dell Inspiron N4110 laptop runs to often, usually at least once per week. Why does it run so often, especially since it has never found anything wrong? How can I put it on a reasonable schedule under my control or turn it off completely?

(2) I have Win 7 Professional with the XP emulation mode installed and used frequently.  Does the XP mode have it's own separate BIOS?  If so, how do I get to it?
