OME is offering Network_Firmware_NF92Y_WN32_7.10.18.EXE to many of my PowerVault servers. When I tried installing it, the OME task sat there for an abnormal amount of time for some of them.
When I try to manually run the DUP on one of the problem servers, a message box pops up stating "This application has failed to start because tbs.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem ". So, it makes sense. When OME tries to install the update, the message box pops up and the whole thing stops indefinitely.
The reason that this message is popping up is because the target server is Windows Server 2003 and this DUP will not run on 2003. Now, it's pretty *** that Dell is dropping support for 2003 even though Microsoft isn't scheduled to to do so until July 2015. But, that's a topic for another forum.
However, it's not a good situation that OME is offering this update when it's not possible to install it. We know the OME knows the target OS is Windows Server 2003. I don't know enough about the catalog to know if this information is included. If it is, then OME should take this into consideration.
