So, from the Dell site it recommended upgrading to the 7.3 from 7.1 or lower for the most current. I do note that 7.1 is still on the list further down. But it appeared that I could maybe shift to one OMSA version (vice a mix of 7.1 and 7.2). So I figured out the automated update and that was nice to get rolling.
However, I now have about 50 machines that all updated fine to 7.3 but unfortunately do not actually have an OMSA launch link in the OME server site. Not only that, but they don't even launch locally on the machine any longer. Tried manual repair, tried manual reinstall with no errors. Finally, complete uninstall and reinstall. Nothing. I narrowed it down to the above machines types/OS (I think 2 of the 50 maintained the ability to launch so it is possible).
When I uninstall and reinstall with 7.1, launch link works fine. back to 7.3 application won't launch. So what is a difference between 7.3 and 7.1 that would cause this?
Attempting to launch OMSA 7.3 on the local machine and IE returns a "you are not on the internet or your address is wrong" error. Uninstall and install 7.1... tada!....
Barring a fix for 7.3, is there an easy way to "roll back" a 7.3 install to a 7.1? (or is it manual all the way)
